Mayor Terry Oden recognizes Browdy's for 100 years of Business in Mountain Brook

After nearly 100 years and three generations in the restaurant business in Mountain Brook, Browdy's Delicatessen closed its doors in August 2009.  Mayor Terry Oden and a crowd of nearly 100 recognized their achievement at City Hall in October 2009 by honoring Marilyn and Stan Browdy with a certificate of achievement and a standing ovation.  Browdy's restaurant and deli had been an institution in Mountain Brook since relocating here from downtown in 1944.  Generations of families became accustomed to dining on their popular deli sandwiches, fried chicken, and cheesecake.  They will be missed!   Read the article about their last days in the business by clicking here!
