Summer Reading Kickoff attracts big turnout!

Residents turned out in big numbers to support the library's annual summer reading kickoff. White tents set up in the parking lot provided protection from the weekend thunderstorms. Events included a Fun Run for children, a video game contest for teenagers, and give aways and reading lists for adults.

The Emmet O'Neal Library and the Junior Women's Committee of 100 hosted the "Be Creative" at your Library Summer Reading Kick-off Carnival, on Sunday, May 17th.

Despite the rain, patrons of all ages enjoyed carnival-style games, train rides, an inflatable slide, and art projects. Over 400 patrons took advantage of the first chance to register children, birth to sixth grade, for the “Be Creative” Summer Reading program. Visit Emmet O'Neal Library to see a full list of exciting
summer programs.
